My oldest teaches 6th and 7th grade science and sent me this morning from the 6th grade Geography teacher. If you would be interested in sending a post card, let me know and I will provide you with the email address of the teacher who will send you the name of a student. I also have the school address info for mailing the postcards.

    Thanks bunches

Will you be traveling for Spring Break or Easter this year? Do you know someone who travels around or out of the country for business? Or perhaps do you have friends or family who live in or will be visiting another country? If you answered yes to any question, I have a special favor to ask of you! The past two years my Sixth Grade World Geography classes have collected postcards from all around the world. By the end of the 2013-2014 school year, we collected a little over 400 postcards, and by the end of the 2014-2015 school year, we collected a little over 700 postcards!! This year our classes have a goal of 800 postcards by the end of the year. We’re over half way there with almost 600 postcards so far. If you’d like to help us reach our goal, please consider sending a postcard to one of my awesome sixth graders.

The process is easy! If you know a sixth grader personally, you can send it to them using our school address. If you don’t know a sixth grader, you can request a name from me of someone who hasn’t received a postcard this year and send it to them using our school address.

Are you wondering what to write on your postcard? That’s easy too! Just describe where you are or what you’re doing. You can send them encouragement to finish the year strong. You can even give them a riddle or clue to figure out.

Over the past two school years, we have received a postcard from every continent – even Antarctica!! This year we’ve received postcards from six of the seven continents. We’re still hoping for an Antarctica postcard again, but we know the chances are slim…. Postcards from places around the US are just as special to us as ones from around the world!

Ever since the popularity of broadband internet, I actually haven't seen any postcards in shops...
