At last, I have resized some pics to show you the sort of scenery I had to suffer. At this river, the children went canoe-ing with Mark over rapids and alsorts, whilst I sat at the waters edge quietly going grey! This was a tributary of the l'Orb, the main river which cut through the valley we were staying in. The children had a great time catching tiddlers and putting them in their buckets. We would come across lovely little villages just wedged into the mountain sides as we drove along. So picturesque. Egg shell blue, the colour of choice for shutters and doors. Funnelweb spiders love the soft sandy banks along the vineyards.
These are lovely scenes, EJ. There must be a lot of vineyards to taste wines along the way. My kind of place. Gardengater
Number one son and dad back from their canoe trip Us at Valras Plage, the local beach resort. A lovely evening watching the rich and beautiful on their yachts.
Where in southern France were you? I have been to Cannes several tames and also to Toulon. Lovely country as I remember it.
In a little hamlet called Ornac, in the Languedoc National Park, about an hours drive from Carcassonne. Along the coast towards spain away from Cannes. FAB country, can't fault it!
Wow EJ, looks like you got a new hair-do for the vacation. lookls good. What nice pics of the valley. The small brooks looked so cool and refreshing. They were so chrystal-clear one would think that he could drink from them. The valley shots and the little villages really were attractive, but you know which pic was my favourite?--the one of the window with shutters and plants. I really liked that very, very much. It was art.
I think I could have happily suffered those views along with you EJ as they are stunning. Love the shots of Mark and number one son. I'm ever so slightly jealous though as you seem to have gone a lovely golden colour - I just go red and then peel.
Nice! It must have been good to look at those ragged mountains and the lovely, little river, not to mention the beach. You've got a lovely tan there.
wonderful pictures EJ! looks like a beautiful countryside. what a nice family you have too! thanks for sharing!
Wow, I never realized that France had scenery like that. I would gladly have made the sacrifice and suffered thru those views for you. I'm with Sjoerd, the picture of the window shutters and plants is beautiful. Could I nick it for my someday file? I really like the new hair-do, it looks great on you.
