Not terribly clear as this piccy was taken inside the kiln, but finally, here is my rescue Piece of pottery. To recap, the square plaque cracked cleanly in half so rather than a pot stand, I had to be creative. I have glazed it witha special glaze with crystal particles in to give the effect of a Monet lily pond, then I painted some plain blue glaze down the crack with the hope that this will adhere the two halves. The lily pad is glazed in dark green and the fish, orange and red, and hopefully they will also help hold the piece together. If it survives its final cooking, I will mount it on a piece of wood so that it can be hung. Hopefully it will be cooked this week.
Oh EJ, you really hit it! Your piece looks kind of Picasso-ish, a trifle Calder, and just totally lovely!
I sure do like that. You may have said before...but what are the dimensions of that tile? Do you have a place for it already?
Do you place things on it there in the conserv.? or is it meant for a lovely deco? It really is a lovely thing, EJ.
Sjoerd, as the Lilly pads and fish are raised, I don’t stand anything on it, it is purely decorative.
THAT! is darling. Well done EJ. once again if you need my address for any of your pieces that need homes...... let me know... you are so very talented!
