My 94 yr. old mother-in-law is going into hospice. She has the slow progression leukemia and the non-chemo treatments aren't working. She is starting to deteriorate fairly quickly now. The only treatments she wants is for pain and let nature take it's course.

I know it's not an easy time for you CK but I hope your mother-in-law remains pain free and simply slips away peacefully.

Thank you all. I talked to my wife a bit ago and her Mom is home but not in very good shape. The blood transfusion they gave her yesterday is going through her like water. She doesn't think it will be very long before she is gone.

I'm sorry to hear she is slipping away. It must be painful to wait for things to happen. Tell your wife the family is in our prayers.

What I am about to say may sound a bit strange to many of you. But I'm the type of person who simply refuses to give up (no matter what the odds)... Therefore I say, so what if she is 94+? And so what if leukemia is said to be out of control?

What I am hinting at is spontaneous remission - And yes, I too have seen it happen with a person in real life... Even now spontaneous remission is little understood, but thanks to more and more connectivity because of the internet - I have discovered that many more people too have had similar experiences. And the most surprising thing, is the emergence of a pattern (after analyzing a few cases). A pattern which shows that there is some link between when a person becomes totally fearless of death, and the triggering of spontaneous remission.

So this fact alone is really what made me look into this as well - As I swear I too saw this exact fearlessness in the eyes of a person (who was at the absolute last stage) - But then got spontaneous remission. The explanation of which no doctor has ever been able to give...
