A group of friends went to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve recently. The 87 ha wetland site was designated as a nature park in 1989. http://www.sbwr.org.sg/

I had close encounters with monitor lizards, mating grasshoppers, praying mantis, lynx spider, skink, caterpillar, gecko, chameleon and a green snake.

Hope you like the praying mantis.

That Mantis is a beauty. I have had a couple in my yard that I have seen so I hope they are happily reproducing and munching on buggies even tho I don't see them.

I had one get on my arm the other day when I was on the back deck. I couldn't get it to go off on the flowers. It kept jumping back. dr finally had to come help. He put his hand in the way so it couldn't jump back. We left it there on the flowers. I don't know where it went from there. dooley

I hardly ever come across a praying mantis but I'm thrilled when I do. I think they bring good luck. that is a lovely shot of him too, songlim.
