Grandchild #8, delivered of my only daughter (she has 4 brothers) yesterday morning, at home, after a 5 hour uncomplicated labor. Mama and Baby are doing well. We are all exhausted, exhilarated and filled with joy! Little sister and big brother sharing a bonding moment. Moments after her birth. Helpin' Mama through a contraction.
Welcome to the big, wide world Lucy Eleanor. I'm so glad Ronni that everything went smoothly for your daughter. You must be so proud of her and little Lucy. Many thanks for taking the time to allow us to share the experience with you.
A very beautiful & touching set of photos. Your daughter is even beautiful in the middle of labor. Your grandchildren are adorable.
Thank you all so much for your lovely responses, and a special thank you to Philip for the beautiful e-card! I've taken a week off work, and most of that time will be spent at Paige's house, as she transitions from being the Mom of a single child to the parent of two. I remember well what an impact that has on a family, on routines, on schedules, and it takes some getting used to. The first time I got to hold her. She was about 30 seconds old, here. And a note on Paige's "manicure." River had given her, and Daddy one, just the day before. There's something particularly precious to me in seeing his handiwork in many of the pictures of his sister's birth. And one more of sweet Lucy and me.
What a beautiful baby girl!! Love her name, so many babies recently have been given the more old-fashioned names you just don't hear much anymore. Water births became very popular several years ago, I didn't realize any were still happening. Looks like the whole birth experience was very calm and comfortable...as comfy as it can be.
