    Yes I think it is a gas plant-dictamnus albus "Purpureus". Very pretty. Also called burning bush.

    Called gas plant because the leaves,flowers and seed pods give off a strong lemon scented vapor which can supposedly be ignited with a match.

    I am in zone 5b, Netty. Just outside Collingwood.

    Those plants took a few years to look like that so now I want more of them. I did save the seeds but unfortunately, nothing germinated.

    That's a pretty plant that I haven't managed to grow. We call it "Moses' Burning Bush" since it's said that we can set fire to the fumes on hot evenings, without damaging the plant. I've never been able to try that.
