This is the primrose which I planted in the garden a few months back. Now it's fully grown...Well, it was when I took the picture last month. Unfortunately when the snow hit northern Britain lightly, it damaged the flower. But fear not; I have encouraged the perky primrose to birth new flowers and luckily she is. The three stars. Most plants exhibit some form of resilience, affording them the ability to recover from mother nature's occasional nasties. Lets hope the snow is finished for the season so we can enjoy the spring flowers. Jwrry
I was shocked when I saw it growing back because the primrose looks like such a vulnerable and delicate plant. I'm happy Mother Nature bestowed this beautiful flower with some frost resilience.
Primroses are much thougher than they look and they seed quite readily. Ours all withstood five feet of snow in my back garden during the winter of 2010 so yours should be just fine. Hopefully, yours will self seed and multiply for you as they are really pretty little blooms.
