I had my first post(2nd) op check up last Tuesday and am pleased to say that my surgeon was very pleased with my newly reattached retina. All my lying down,as ordered, has done its job. I still have milestones to reach at 2,6 and 12 weeks post-op and still have to take it relatively easy but the signs are good. Even though I'm on the mend I don't actually have much sight in that eye.If I close my right eye and use the left all I can "see" is light or dark and movement-this is the scary part but I'm assuming that there will be a slow and gradual improvement as the gas bubble disappears over time... No sewing for me then for ages...
I'm glad the 2nd check-up went so well. Even if it takes until the 12th week before the sight in your left eye is back to normal it will all have been worth it. Just don't be tempted to overdo things - nothing is more important at the moment than your eyesight.
So glad to hear your progress. I agree, do only what the doc says and don't over do anything. Be patient. Special little prayers go out for you each day.
Happy news about your post-op report! Do take it easy, and your sight will improve. Meanwhile, you can mentally plan all those sewing projects!
I am quite pleased with your report this time. I am counting on that haziness resolving over time. I can imagine that the worst thing for you is that you can't sew at the moment. Of course the most important thing for me is that you can use a computer and come on here from time to time. What does your garden look like at the moment? Have you still got a bit of colour?
Thank you all for your good wishes and prayers :-D I fully intend to keep on doing as I'm told and take it as easy as I can.It isn't easy as I normally have lots of things on the go...and yes Sjoerd,the lack of sewing is probably the most frustrating thing of all.I was going to make new party dresses for our nearly-grand daughters...ho hum... With it being soooooo mild I still have a few odds and ends in bloom,including the Borage,some calendulas,some Pinks and the winter clematis has gone berserk since I chopped a lot of it off so I could see a bit more of the garden from the kitchen window.in keeping with the season both of my acers are spectacularly red this year! I have a few pictures which I'll post when I have the patience to sit with my laptop. Jane,I have so many planned projects my head might explode with the thought of them all Eileen, I don't think I have ever taken my eyesight for granted but it has made me realise how quickly it can be taken away permanently,which is the most scary thing imaginable. One thing I hadn't counted on is the feeling of vulnerability I have because I have no peripheral vision at all to my left hand side and stuff just appears without warning.
