This is a holiday cookie jar, I am going to seal the lid on to keep water out and place in the garden somewhere. Soon to be garden decor ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) And this is a window shutter, still has the hinge parts attached so it will be easy to run a long piece of rebar thru them and set it up in the garden somewhere. I am thinking in the shade kind of to the side of a table and chairs to give a little bit of privacy, don't have the final plans worked out it. Definately with plants on either side to complete the screening affect. Window shutter soon to be garden decor ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden )
Love them both. Who would think of using a cookie jar for garden junk, but you!! I think it is so cool!Love the color and I'll bet it will really show up good. Obviously you went back to your thrift store!
Thanks you two. A lesson in buying something when you first see it, on Friday we had gone to our favorite thrift store and I saw a bright red dog food container in the shape of a fire hydrant...didn't get it then even tho something told me I should. Saturday Randy wanted to go back up there to check out a mosquito magnet/killer thing he saw...that was still there and came home with us but the cool red fire hydrant was gone. I was going to seal it shut and use it in the garden but waited too long to figure that out...
Yeah...lesson learned. When you see it, if you like it, buy it!! That would have been so cute, but I like the cookie jar you ended up with.
.....Have yo8u been out trolling the neighbourhoods for yard sales again, Toni? C'mon, own-up. That door looks like a fun thing to work-into your garden somehow. You always manage to find the right place for the things that you discover. How are those fences doing, BTW?
Oh, goodness, I haven't taken updated photos of the fence panels have I? I am planning on being out there painting some tomorrow and will get some taken. I can fully understand why my oldest grandson changed his mind about painting them for me, it is no fun
this pics are cool. moderator's note: corrected chatspeak to normal writing, see point 3.2 of usage rules
Oh, how did I manage to not see this post before? Cool stuff, Toni. Have you placed them yet? How about an update?
I really love that jar Toni. Give it pride of place somewhere as it's too beautiful not to be seen by everyone. :-D As for the door I can think of a few ways I could encorporate it into my own garden and am looking forward to seeing where you place it. Great finds yet again!!
They haven't been placed in the garden yet. Before I could get that done we went into an unusual rainy season which is keeping the black clay soggy. We have to wait for a drier spell than we have had lately to use a little concrete to support the hanging post so it won't fall when it rains again. And the storms have come with a chance of hail so I really didn't want the purple jar to be out in that. :'( :'( :'(
Wow! What a fab idea! With so much going to waste in the world we need more creative people like you! Love the Cookie Jar especially. Have you thought of growing in it rather than sealing it?
