Clematis are doing well for me this year. This one is at the front porch.

And this one is growing up into our Blue Spruce.

I'm sure the Blue Spruce is drinking up all the added attention.

Oh I like your clematis. It's a beautiful dark, rich colour and the yellow centres really stand out.

Phillip - we didn't have good luck with clematis in the past. The 3 that I have now that are doing very well were ones that were accidently shipped to us with some other plants that I had ordered. We were told to keep them - so we say that the only clematis we can grow were the free ones.

You have me smiling and thinking all kinds of weird plans to get a free Clematis.

You may think it strange that i can grow almost anything but Clematis,..i have taken cuttings and they come along fine,..then sudden death,..luckily,..if you can call it that,..i never had a cutting of a Clematis that i really liked and lost it.

I've been thinking about adding a Clematis. The blooms are just so pretty... and your's is one of the prettiest I've seen. Especially with that Blue Spruce.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Blue Spruces... had a couple that really did well for me when I lived in New Mexico. Bought them as living Christmas trees. I sure do miss them... drats... now I'm just getting all sappy and side-tracked!
    Beautiful blooms!

That is a very lovely Clematis. I think that that one would look good ANYWHERE.
Glad to hear that yours are doing well this year.

I have worked for a guy who has a white wooden fence in his side yard. Three clematis vines grew on the fence. Each flowers a different shade of purple clematis flowers. When they are all in bloom, it looks like an elegant billowing purple cloud.
