That really is up close and personal! I can see him very good. I like being able to inspet him closely like this. Hae you made friends with this little fellow, or was it a one-time isit?

WOW what a superb photograph Gail!! We don't have these little birds over here so it's lovely to see one up so close.

FF...Thanks, he is a messy eater.
Sjoerd...I have two of them that are regulars. At a distance its hard to decide if its a house finch or a purple finch. The purple are more rasberry & the house more orange/red.
Eileen glad you are enjoying him, I have lots more to post.

This is lovely and it's wonderful to be able to look at all the details. He looks like he doesn't care much about table manners! Beautiful.

    What a great close-up shot!
I'm so jealous of all the beautiful birds you have visiting.

Gail, Great photo! Is that your window ledge the cutie is sitting on? You get such close looks at all the visiting birdies...
I am going to copy that. I have a good brick ledge to put seed on to watch birds, but it'll drive my kitties nuts!

Thank you all for your comments, Kay that is the ledge outside my kitchen window. It is very distracting when I am trying to get things done.

I am jealous of all you birders out there :D But, with the cats it just wouldn't be fair to feed them

What a fantastic shot. As Eileen says, it is so nice to see photos of birds from other parts of the world. We had a lull in bird visitors recently but I am pleased to say that they are back in their numbers, so lovely to see, cheers me up on these cold winter days.

Great picture...I love them at my feeders....I have problems feeding too close to the house because it excites my cat too much so I just feed in the pergola area. I don't want her getting caught in my blinds.

Glad you all enjoyed the photo. Sherry our golden retriever just sits and watches the birds but if a squirrel comes near she barks like crazy.
