Got this off the markdown rack. It was labeled as a Sweet Potato ivy. I didn't think it was, but got it anyhow because I liked the color of the foliage.
The new leaves start off green then change to the purple.
So far it's shown no sign of being any type of vine and no signs of flower buds.
Any clues to what this is?

Don't know which cultivar for sure....probably 'Blackie'
It's a trailing plant, it won't grow up on a trellis but trails along the ground and over the sides of containers, that sort of effect. Makes a great ground cover.

Really? Wow. Guess the it wasn't mis-labeled totally.
I'll move it away from the trellis and just let it do it's thing.
    Thanks Toni!

I really like that plant too. It makes a good contrast plant and would look lovely as a ground cover. I bet you are glad that you went ahead and picked it up.

For 25 cents... no way I was walking away from something that I liked even though I didn't know what I was getting into! How often does that happen in life? :D

Toni... can you add it from what I've already uploaded... or do I need to suggest it?

Go ahead and suggest it, that way you are given credit as the member who suggested it and as a contributor.

I bought one of those also, not quite at .25 though.
It started to look pretty ratty by fall in it's small container, cut it down to the quick, planted it in a lime green container to go with some purple
lantana and another vine with purple flowers
(can't remember that name). Come spring
that sweet potato vine just exploded and is a lush
growth - very striking in contrast to the lime green container!
