I knew there was at least one purple Iris among all the yellow/white ones that bloomed a few days ago. Evidently they don't wish to compete with the others so they wait until all the others have done their thing, that gives them the chance to stand out. It was very overcast this morning and had rained for a few minutes when I took this picture. My favorite spot in the spring...before my Bearded Iris are in bloom that is...is the grouping around the wheel barrow. The Iris behind are done for the year, the White Autumn Sage on the right is in full bloom and the Snapdragons in front are also putting on a show. Then there are the Scabiosa and Pansies in the wheel barrow.
Seems like your wheel barrow is even brighter than last week's photos already! Can't believe some of your Irises have already "done their thing". I love the Pacific Northwest, but lately I've been pondering a move to Texas for the sole purpose of gardening
Would you just LOOK at all the color in your yard!! Looks fabulous! I'm still waiting for my Daffs to come out!
I love taking pictures in the garden on heavily overcast days. I can use the flash and the colors just pop out.
Beautiful Iris's I love the wheel barrow. I may be incorporating that idea out in the lavender field. Until next time. Lavender Up!
Toni I love the purple Iris and the wheelbarrow 'scape' with all the gorgeous colors. They do 'pop' for sure. Thanks for sharing a bit of my old stomping ground!!!
Now that's a colourful garden! You have really hit on the picture-taking thing... taking fotos on overcast days. The lighting really is better. A supurb show, and to thik that this is only one area of your garden. It's stunning. Well done, you!
