I planted a Purple Leaf Smoke Tree today.
Any one have advice ? My zone is 5..

They seem to be a little more vigorous if you prune them.

If it grows..LOL I just planted it yesterday.. About 6 Inches tall..LOL

I planted one last year and it croaked..

Uh-oh....That's a shame, B. :-? Do you think that those are particularly difficult things to grow? Dit you discover what killed the smoke bush last year?

 

I dont know a thing about them.. This time I took great care to see if it works..

Have to cross my fingers and toes. $2.99 is the reason I tried again..

They sure do.I never seen on ..Or didnt know it ..
Can't beat the price, no postage either.

It did show lil leaves poking out .. Hope I hope I hope.
