Some time ago, I posted about my purple milkweed being accidently mowed down by my DS. I forget when it happened, but those never grew back. But the other day, I was outdoors doing some chores in another part of my yard, and found some purple milkweed growing! Yay! It is on the edge of my yard, where the field begins, and in some brush. The butterflies will not mind, they love this stuff. I will watch it for seed pods this summer, and plant them closer in to my home, and maybe in some flower beds. Before I came here, Connie/Kosta Kid shared some of her Kiss me over the garden gate seeds on Garden Talk. I planted them, and they never grew. BUT last fall, I found a baby one in another part of my yard far away from where I had planted them. I put it into a large tub to keep it from getting nibbled or mowed. Over the winter, my tub got broken by falling branches out of a tree, and I had to move all that dirt into a new tub. I tried to keep track of that little part of dirt where it was planted. I was not sure I had succeded. [I lost a lot of plants over the winter, probably due to the cold?] I also have some baby TX Bluebonnets that finally grew for me, and I put them in that tub too. I kind of use it for a nursery tub for seedlings too little to put right into the garden, but too big for the starter trays. Both are doing quite nicely. I think I need to move the KMOGG though cuz it is getting quite large now. Now, they are growing nicely, and need put directly into the ground... I read that KMOGG flowers do not like to be moved?
I have moved Kiss Me Over Garden gate many times. And given away plants. Good luck. Also have many milk weeds. Hope to Monarch find them.
