we put in a Lavatera last year white with red centred flowers, now I always thought that Lavatera was a deciduous but this one kept all of its leaves and even grew a little during the months through November/march.

so whats going on,I have even taken a few cuttings now and they seem to have already rooted.

the blue one we had that grew very nearly into a tree has died but it was a "son of" and its grandson continues to grow, not my favourite shrub as it will split and tends to wobble a bit in the wind even while staked.
    thoughts please.

I know there are some lavatera that are semi - evergreen and a few hybrids that are not deciduous. The mallow tree - Lavatera Barnsley is evergreen as far as I remember. It has deep pink centres to the flowers but I think the blooms are actually pink. Maybe your white one is another evergreen hybrid. :-?
