What does the nutrient phosphorous do for plants? A. Encourages rooting, blooming and fruit production in plants B. Helps plants resist disease C. Makes plants glow in the dark D. Encourages thick, lush growth
The answer of choice would be 'A.' Wouldn't it be nice to get plants to glow in the dark? Oh! They did that already, crossed a firefly with tobacco plant. Cool!! What will they think of next? Jerry
I think D, but possibly A. I know years ago they took phosphates out of detergents because it encouraged extreme algae growth in lakes and streams which was supposed to be 'bad'. I was a kid, so no idea on why it was bad. I think that the extreme plant growth depleted the oxygen or CO2 needed by fish and acquatic critters ?
