So glad the surgery went well. Hope you heal quickly and without complications.

As far as peanuts: just a guess.
for the nutmeats: bio-oils for cars, machines, etc., base for nontoxic paints and wood oils. Shells: for insulation, mats, anything fiber can be used for. Also childhood weapons in a slingshot or to put down your sisters shirt, or drive your mom crazy.

Great news about the surgery Delly - so glad everything went well for you. Now take time to recover fully. Wishing you all the best.

    Now for my answer:

The shells, skins and kernels of peanuts may be used to make a vast variety of non-food products. For example, the shells may be used in wallboard, fireplace logs, fibre roughage for livestock feed and kitty litter; and, the skins may be used for papermaking. Peanuts are often used as an ingredient in other products such as detergent, salves, metal polish, bleach, ink, axle grease, shaving cream, face creams, soap, linoleum, rubber, cosmetics, paint, explosives, shampoo, and medicine.

Aside from a squirrel teaser on a string?? Hmmmmmm, well compost comes to mind. Since they are flammable you can use them to start a fire. They can be used packing material as an alternative to styrofoam. The cat may tell you that she finds them in her kitty litter, maybe. Roughage for animal feed, shows you some animals are not finicky eaters. If someone said ' there are peanut shells in that,' I would not be surprised. Manufacturers find solutions for many of their product problems in a world of items that leave us raising an eyebrow. Google will give you a plethora of uses that would have you lifting both eyebrows.
