    Looks like a dirt daubers nest or possibly an organ pipe mud dauber.

    I had never seen this before. It was quite by accident I caught this at this stage.

    It looks kind of similar to the wasps nests we get here.

    It is actually the beginning of a hornets nest. When I knocked it down it had about 5 larvae in it. I didn't kill the queen, just made her start anew somewhere less intrusive than my old swing.
