I am starting a new support group here on GardenStew called Rose Addicts Anonymous (RAA).

As all of your know rose addiction is a serious issue which affects the lives of gardeners from all over the globe. If addicts do not get the proper support they can end up with Severly Pricked Fingers Syndrome (SPFS) and can end up sharing their homes with rampant roses that start to grow into their windows and under the doors. Needless to say this is a thorny issue.

Let's stop the hurt and realise that roses are just roses. There is coffee and biscuits so come take a seat. And no rushing for the comfy armchairs (do you hear me Denee :D)

Who's brave enough to speak first....

Oh Denee hello! Come in and take a seat. I've already poured you a nice cup of coffee.

I've 'invited' a few other members and they will be coming along soon. We are all just going to have a 'chat' and it would be nice if you would be here when they pin you to the floor until you admit you have a rose addiction. Ummmm *cough* what am I saying. I meant to say when they 'arrive'.

    Chocolate biscuit?

12 steps to deal with rose addiction....

    1. Sit and talk with your roses every day. Neither one will be bored and your rose will love you for it.

    2. When the urge to buy a new rose becomes too much, go buy one.Why fight it?

    3. When your rose bloom, be proud.

    4. When they are sick, find a cure.

    5. If you want to buy a new rose but cant afford one, find one on sale.

    6. If you have to, sell your mom for it.

    7. Nothing is too good for your roses.

    8. When trouble strikes your roses, strike back, like a mother lion with her cubs.

    9. In case they get bored, be sure to have garden friends move into the area.

    10. If you have to, stand guard so noone tries to pick your beautiful blooms.

    11. Just beacuse you love roses, doesnt mean you are addicted. And dont let anyone (FRANK!) that you are.

    12. Stand proud. And yell loud.... MY NAME IS >INSERT NAME HERE< AND IM NOT A ROSE ADDICT!!! WE DONT NEED NO STINKING RAA!!!

    :D :D :D :p

    I mean :smt018

I urge, no demand that everybody disregard the above post by Pinkie. It was the most shambolic bunch of rose propaganda I have ever had the misfortune of reading. I could have deleted by I will leave it there as a constant reminder of what you will say should you become addicted. Scary isn't it!

You guys are too funny! I only have 17 rose bushes, so I guess I am not considered an addict yet. Oh wait, that's an uneven #, I'd better go out and buy another.
