My oldest daughter just called me about one of the 8th grade students at her school. The girl, Rachel, collapsed at dance class this evening with a brain aneurysm. She was CareFlight-ed to Children's Medical center and is being prepped for surgery now. My daughter, their principal and some teachers are on the way to the hospital to stay with the family. Any prayers, good thoughts and healing energies you all could send for Rachel, her family and the school family would be great. The school lost a 6th grade boy the weekend before last in an ATV accident and the staff and students haven't completely come to terms with that loss yet and now this.
Just talked to my daughter. It was a 2 inch aneurysm that burst and caused a stroke before she hit the floor at dance class. The Dr. said it was the largest aneurysm they have ever seen in a child that size.
Just terrible, Toni--I'm sending all the West-Friesian well-wishes that I can possibly muster. I sure hope that they were able to help her in time. Please know that I shall be thinking about her and you. Do keep us posted when you can.
How awful for them! Prays and hugs for them all. Makes one wonder why such things happen to such young and innocent people. My the Great Spirit give them the strength to make it through this crisis.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers going out for Rachel and her family. All I know this morning is that she has no movement on her left side and a little on her right side. They are keeping her sedated for now and on a ventilator, she is more comfortable, painfree and it will help the swelling go down. She is having an MRI this morning but they don't know if it will show more than what the ones at 6:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. showed. She will probably be kept sedated for another 24-48 hours, so until then they don't really know just how extensive the damage to her brain is.
I'm summoning all good forces and sending them to Rachel's aid. Poor girl, family and all her friends at school.
Toni my thoughts and prayers go out to Rachel and her family.I do hope she can over come this and lead a normal life. God bless them all.
