I sowed a bunch of rows of radish a couple weeks ago and as they come up large minoritys of them turn yellow and then red and do not grow at all, while some are growing perfectly fine right next to them

    Any ideas?

Could the seeds be bad? What variety were they? I'll be planting radishes soon and I have 3 different kinds - plum purple, cherry, and round black Spanish radishes. I've never had any issues with radishes.

Im planting cherry belle, and have 2 different seed packs one from this year and one from last year and i have been planting both but i dont believe its from a whole bag of seeds because each row is from the same packet and the bad seedlings are spotted throughtout

I had the same problem last year,,I think with the same variety. What company did you purchase seed from ? I buy mine locally but sometimes you just have a bad year or the seed wasn`t stored/dried properly ect. Many reasons that some years they just don`t do well no matter what you do.

Is it really wet there? they don't do well in saturated soil.

I try to let them dry out between waterings, and one packet is local and the other from High Mowing Seeds

What about fertilizing? are you over doing it? But over watering is the hardest on them. I don't think we fertilize radishes at all and I only water if I see they have wilted (we are in sandy soil in that spot)

It could be over watering, thank you for the tip! Hopefully the insects don't completely ravage them.

You can cover them with a floating row cover to keep the flea beetles off. They are the worst. The leaves are riddles with holes from them, but I have found that sevin is about the only effective "cure" for them and I hate to use it, but sometimes I break down and do it. Especially since I ma not eating the leaves.
