What a day this has been and it's not much past lunch time. It started sunny. DR washed clothes. They hadn't been on the line more than half an hour and I heard thunder. We went out and this huge black cloud was moving our way. It started raining soon and it's still raining. Not a heavy rain but a steady rain. We went to the post office and a fog was moving in from somewhere. Now, I've heard that Prescott Valley had gotten 3 inches of heavy rain in less than an hour and the road between here and there was closed for awhile due to fog. It's only 58F degs. outside. I turned on the oven and made zucchini bread, three big loaves and two medium loaves. Now it's warm in the kitchen but damp elsewhere. Dooley
Oh, the forecast was for a stray thunderstorm. Gotta go It's thundering again. Dooley

I detest fog. I worry when Ian has to drive up north and it's foggy. It's not his driving I'm worried about but all the idiots who still speed even if they can'r see what's ahead of them. :-x

We didn't get that much rain in Mayer, but almost. It's being caused by a hurricane that's forming off the west coast of Mexico and drawing rain up into Arizona. It's due to stick around a few days. Chance is depressed. She is not fond of thunder and rain. Dooley

So strange when desert people get more rain than Western Washington. Dangit, we are the ones with the rainforest for crying out loud! This has been our driest year since 1967.

Sounds like a very dreary day Dooley. I hope Chance doesn't get too depressed. I know my dogs don't like rainy weather.

It's stopped raining for now but it's still cloudy. We got about two inches. I'm not sure of the total. Prescott Valley was really flooded. We've had more rain this summer than we've had in several years. Our last really wet year like this was 1994. We didn't have to have water restrictions this year. Dooley

I can't believe how green everything is and if my weeds are tall the desert weeds are gigantic. It will make great tinder for wildfires when the dry season comes and it turns brown. This rain should quit about the middle of September. Not everyone gets the rain, it takes certain paths it seems like. Twenty miles from here it could still be brown. I wish I could ship it to Texas or Ohio but I shouldn't be complaining. The creek is still dry and the weeds have grown so much you can't see it in some places. Dooley
