We have...*gasp*... rain in the forecast  not that I think it will save the farmers crops up here, but we still need it all the same. Some of the fields are so sad looking. I saw a field yesterday that there are not ears on the corn and soybeans that I couldn't see any pods on the plants as we drove by. I still haven't gotten any tomatoes off the row across the road, or peppers, either and it is getting to the end of the growing season up here.

I hope you will get rain. It was forecast here all last week and we only got the thunder. I saw puddles when we were in town this morning so they must have gotten our rain.

Ah, Thanks. We did get some much needed rain today. I can hear the earth and the plants sighing. Hopefully we continue to get more as the fall begins. Oh, now maybe I will get some tomatoes from the patch across the road. I can hope.

Oh if only I could send you the sunshine. I'm not sure, but there is probably some measurement of the total amont of lumens or some such measure that tells us how much sunshine we have for the season... I am sure we are at the extreme high end  with no days of rain or clouds we have had an abundance of it.
I think that there were next to no days lost due to rain, at any construction sites in our area in the last year. It was the best year ever if you wanted to solarize any part of the garden.

That rain missed us. Just a couple of sprinkles here. It's so dry, the leaves on the trees are starting to turn and fall already. Early fall this year. We normally only have 4 or 5 days a year at 90 deg. or above. This year we have had 45.

Oh, sorry to hear that Capt. :( I will hope for you some rain in the near future...like today. The weeds were even wilted down here. Today I was pulling a few tall lambs quarters out of the new asparagus bed and the soil was wet only about 2 inches down. It was bone dry under that. I am certainly hoping for some more rain in the next few days, before this dries right back out of the soil.

It doesn't seem fair that we have so much rain we don't know what to do with it and you don't and on the other hand you have all the sunshine and we're lucky to get a day or 2 here and there. Crazy weather systems.

Ah, Kiasmum, We had the same weather pattern last year...Rain, rain, rain....over and over and over for about 10 months or maybe close to a year, day in and day out or if it wasn't rain it was snow. It was unbelievable and others here in the states were having the worst drought on record.

I hope it drys up for you though, too.

Ah, could ya send clouds and rain to me too? Sooo dry here. Farmers have begun harvesting corn, as it's basically all dried up and will only be good for silage.

Kay, I will certainly send you much hope and thoughts and prayers for rain. I see we are forecasted to get some from the hurricane, but maybe it will spread out and come your way too.

Yippee! Yahoo! It is raining!!! It was in the forecast... we had strong winds the past couple of days... which brought in a cold front... the clouds developed... it was almost like we were collectively willing the sky to open up and pour down on us!
I was outside getting wet a while ago! It feels so great! We are so parched here, I am so grateful that Mother Nature targeted us this time.

So glad for you Kay!!!! There is nothing any of us can do to make it rain. I am just glad you are finally getting some. Our grass is finally green and soft...not prickly anymore. I just said to someone today it was nice to be able to go barefooted again, which I haven't done all summer since the grass was just about dangerous walking on it this year.
