I was reading something online, (aimlessly drifting from page to page) - Until I came upon this:

    http://qz.com/171698/it-takes-53-gallon ... ingle-egg/

And even more detail is given here:
    http://www.waterfootprint.org/?page=fil ... uctgallery

Really interesting read, as it shows us exactly how much freshwater is used in our food preparation. From seed, to harvest, to processing, till it reaches our plate. Since we all are always growing something, I just thought that sharing this here will be the right thing to do!
    :stew1:

Slice of pizza = 42 gallons.
    Dozen eggs = 636 gallons.
Pound of lettuce = 30 gallons.
Loaf of bread = 288 gallons.
Bar of chocolate = 317 gallons.
