Howdy, Folks; Look at the recently discovered photo; will make a good roach, rat, and other varmints deterrent. Me, circa 1965 ( photo / image / picture from Henry Johnson's Garden ) This was taken by a buddy when I was attending ET (Electronics Technician) School at USCG Training Center at Groton, Conn.; I later transferred to Avionics Technician which was the electronics on aircraft.. This was my second military career.. The previous one was where I earned the Parachutists Badge that you can see on the shirt.. I earned that when I had no better sense than to jump out of perfectly good airplanes, go figure... Well, most everybody wants to be a hero in their youth, right? Hank
Hank, some men start out handsome and some become handsome. I think you are one of the ones that started out handsome and just got more good-looking as you matured. I personally cannot imagine jumping out of an airplane voluntarily, but it is nice that some folks are brave enough to do that. I prefer to stay on the ground and pick up the pieces .
Great 'photo Hank!! Jumping out of airplanes certainly wouldn't be my cup of tea but a man in uniform - well that's a completely different story.
......... It's a U.S. COAST GUARD uniform.. The difference between the two is undetectable in that photo because at that time the only difference was that the USCG uniform had a small (about 2cm X 3cm) shield embroidered on the left sleeve at about mid-fore arm position... Thank you all for the very nice complimentary remarks... Hank
You remind of of Hugh Lowrie...Dr. House on TV. He is a good looking man too. Yep, there is just something about a man in uniform Thanks for serving this great country.
