We have really high winds coming our way. Right now they are about 80 mph in Ft. Worth. Really heavy rain and several small tornadoes reported all over the area.
The news guy reporting on TV right now is having a hard time standing up in the wind.

Looks like some of the bad stuff will be over us in a few minutes. When you look at the radar map, we are north of the W in DFW, where the road going north to Denton and the road going east/west come together just below that black line which is the county line.

Should be another interesting night. I just went out to move some things around to keep the neighbors from having them in their back yards.

I couldn't find a smiley for what I am really feeling. The wind and rain hit here at 7:05, probably 60-80 mph and we have gotten 1.5 inches of rain in that 15 minutes....still coming down just as heavy as it started. Our area should be high enough not to flood, other than the plants out back.

The rain has come to an end. The heavy storms lasted for about an hour with continuing light rain for at least a couple of hours after that.
My yard is 2.25 inches wetter than it was this time last night. I haven't had a chance to look for any problems, the wind did rip off the bamboo screen from the front window and hopefully that is all.

I can imagine that a few plants were beaten down since it was so heavy for quite a while. The wind speed gauge at a small airport about a mile from me registered winds of 75 mph. Down southwest of here by the Six Flags Amusement park the winds were clocked at 100 mph.

So another spring storm with a chance of yet another one in about a week.

Glad it passed off relatively ok Toni. You certainly don't have a problem with a shortage of rain this year

Wild - I've never heard of a derecho before (don't think we have them around here) - very scary thought. I am grateful all seems well at your home now, if a bit wet and windblown.
