My SIL was just given an old friends houseplants. Some I knew, some I don't
    1. Grassy plant possibly a type of iris, there were two more slightly different ones that were still labeled as African iris. This ones bigger and very unruly at the moment.

    2. This next one is possibly a weed. Maybe pokeweed, it's growing with a ficus.

    3. This is a small plant with big round leaves. Reminds me a little of a strawberry begonia. The leave are smooth and kind of thick. It seems to be growing from a bulb.

    4. This I asked about a while back and I'm hoping since its grown a bit someone can id it. I think it came from a pack of moonflowers, looks nothing like the rest though.

    5. Is I believe a ficus. The leaves are darker the the other it came with and any that I've seen. Just wondering what specific type it is.

    Any input is appreciated.

Hi, #2 is a loquat...small yellow edible fruit

    # 3 is cyclamen

    #4 also cyclamen

the plants in pink pots are cyclamen and they grow from corms which die down for some part of the year.Too much water is a problem for the. Hope this gives a bit of a lead.

I dont think 4 is a cyclamen. I just posted two pics if 3 to show the corm(?) it was growing from. 4 is the big leafed red stem one.

Loquat!! I knew it looked familiar.

    1. Is really too long and ugly right now. Is it good advice to tell her to trim it and put it in a sunny place?

The last one is a little tree. Im pretty sure it's a ficus. I've just not seen one with such thick, dark, glossy leaves.

I don't think #5 is a fig. If you look closely at the leaves you will see they are in pairs up the stem and figs (all the ones I've seen) are alternately up the stem. I could be wrong, but if it is one it certainly is not one I am familiar with.

    4. Is burgundy okra I think! Googled it and it looks exactly like it. How weird, I don't even grow vegetables. Maybe it got mixed into another seed packet? How random.

Okra is a very smart plant. One showed up in my veggie patch last year! LOL! I think 4 looks like okra too.
