My California family is RV'ing across the county as I type, wending their way here to Tennessee to hang with the family for a few days, before making the trek back home again. It's been 3 years since the last time they were here, though I've traveled back to California a few times in between...I head over that way a couple times a year. Anyway, they're heading here, and should be here around Wednesday. I'm always excited to see them of course, but this time is particularly significant....it will be the first time in many years that all the siblings have gotten together! I have 5 children, 4 of whom live in Tennessee too, and various of them have traveled to CA to see their brother at different times, but there's something very special for me to have all my kids gathered under one roof. It didn't happen the last time Corey was here because of son #2, Grayson. I've shared here that he's an addict, and the last time Corey and family was here, Grayson was in very, very bad shape, I didn't even know where he was for much of the time, and so that visit was overshadowed by my worry for him. But yay! He's in recovery now, and has been for close to two years, and is SO excited to get to see his brother again...it's been MUCH longer for him than anyone else! Here's a picture of the whole gang from the last time they were here....Paige was pregnant with Lucy her second child, and the various cousins had a blast together. Corey is the one standing in front of the TV, holding one of his kids, and his wife Mayra is in front of him with the dark hair. The boy on the LH end with the glasses isn't actually one of my biological children but he's been the boys' friend for forever, and is essentially part of the family. And the young lady on the other end, also wearing glasses, is William's niece. Everyone else is related to me...and y'know, it's really funny to look at all those people, and think "I did that!! It all came from me....If not for me, none of those wonderful human beings would exist!" Kind of a strange zone, but a bit startling to realize too. Anyway, I'm very, very excited to see the family again, and especially to have the whole crew together....what a special, unique moment that will be!! And of course, you know me, so you KNOW there will be SO MANY PICTURES!!!

The California family arrived, and we've been partying hard ever since!! Yesterday was Family Friday...that's when we arranged for everyone to get together all at once. Kids here took off from work so that everyone could spend the day together. I look at this photo, and realize that I made that!!!! I did that...they are all together, all in existence, because of me. It's an amazing moment! Everyone gathered at the house around lunch time. Then we headed to the Adventure Science museum for the afternoon, then to a restaurant to eat, and then back to the house to just hang, kids playing and adults sipping on wine and chatting. It's been so good to have this time, good for everyone concerned. Here...more photos...all the cousins together, and then all my kids together. Heaven...HEAVEN I say!!!!

I love the photograph of all the kids together - from eldest to youngest. The whole clan are a handsome bunch and look so happy. Neither wonder you're so proud of them all.
