I just finished up the most amazing long weekend! A few of my close, dear friends from around the country, we've all known each other for up to 20 years or so, gathered together in Nashville for what we hope will be the first of many "Paloozas"...that's what we're calling them. Folks started arriving Friday afternoon, and I took the last of them to the airport yesterday at 7.30 p.m. It was wonderful to see everyone. My boys came over Saturday afternoon to hang with everyone. The kitchen counter was groaning under the weight of a ridiculous amount of food...folks cooked baked ziti, brisket, a pork roast, there were all manner of sides, a cake because it was one of the kids' birthdays, the wine flowed freely.....it was a wonderful time! I was sad to see everyone go, but there's already another Palooza in the works for next year, this time in the general Atlanta GA area! The gang! Some of the munchkins (my grandson is far R) Two of my friends are orchestral musicians, so we even had an impromptu flute mini concert! We played a game called Head's Up ... sort of like Charades, but with a cell phone and the person holding the phone is the one who has to guess. Everyone's calling out hints to the hapless phone person. A few of the gang gathered in the kitchen for lunch. Two of my boys (the two on the left) chatting with the husband of one of the women Several of them even wanted to come to my dance studio with me and give it a shot It was a fabulous time! I'm missing them already!
It looks like you are all having a great time and it is so special to have your good friends with you. I love the name of your get-togethers too.
