Well I have gone and got myself suspended from GW! Long story short! I sent and lady postage for some Iris and she never sent them. When I tried to contact her Her email address was no longer any good. No contact info on GW either. So I waited and watched for her to post and then I called her on it.I told her she owed me and that she stole my postage. They suspended me for it. Guess it's ok to lie and steal and cheat on GW just don't be truthful. Not that it bothers me so much just kinda one sided as I see it. Guess They will be mad at me for a while. I told them I was sorry but the other lady should not be allowed to make an offer and then keep all the postage and send nothing. Guess my idea of right and wrong are not the same as theirs. I was out of line I guess but I was very upset and made it clear she stole from me and many others as well. Makes one not want to trade or share their plants any more! Best to just trash them and buy what you want so you are not cheated. Most everyone here are awesome people and I have enjoyed trading and sharing with all of you. Honesty that's all I ask.
I hope the others that she's cheated out of postage and package money will complain to GW and that they'll sort it out for you all. She should have been the one banned from the site in my opinion. We try to make sure that any problems of this kind are dealt with here quickly so that there are no repeats of this type of behaviour. Sorry this happened to you. I think I would be upset too. I've had a few swaps go bad but usually I don't send money anyway, just seeds/plants.
That's horrible! I always like to assume that other garden friends are as honest as we are. I guess there is always one cheater in the crowd. I'm sorry you found that one Pianolady.
I have not traded there for number of years.Had 2 trades nothing in return and couple such small amount And had sent them nice plants. I would rather go to local plant swaps.Did that couple times -got VERY nice plants.
What a shame! People like the larcenous lady make everyone cautious about swaps. Hope GW comes to its senses, but I wouldn't hold my breath until they do!
I agree with the others.... and I would probably have done the same thing that you did. I say it's GW's loss not having you as one of their members.
Thank you all! Frank is awesome I did have one bad trade here. sent the plants but nothing from the other trader. She has never posted here again. Live and learn. I feel bad they banned me but I don't need that kind of e-friends when I have all of you wonderful people to chat with.
So far there have been few bad trades reported here but if you ever have one please refer to this topic: Reporting bad trades. We will do what we can to help
Oh man that stinks! :-x What were you after? Maybe one of us have it and we'll send it to you? I know you are a VERY GENEROUS swapper and don't deserve to be cheated! If it makes you feel any better I really believe what goes around comes around, that lady will get hers one day!
Pondlady, I got tired of the snarky remarks, sniping, and "my way or the highway" attitude on GW, and asked that my profile and all information about me be removed. Contact them and ask them to do the same for you. That way you are formally off the forum, and you didn't get banned, you left GW in the dust! And please tell us what it was you wanted--some Stewie probably has it to share and I'll pay the postage myself.
Been trading local. I met some very nice people. And it was through GW. One couple was featured in Bird and Bloom. But when the people I had met found out I had lost flowers from Farmer spraying next to us. Those traders sent many plants. I getting some things ready to send here this week. Hope they enjoy them.
This lady offered Japanese Iris and as I am an Iris lover I want to try some. LOL ones weakness can over ride ones good judgment. The postage loss was not that much but never responding to any post I made and refusing to send the plants or return the postage and keep posting just went right up my nose. I am OK. You are all so awesome here. Hugs to every one of you.
