I went out the front door and down the step and turned right around and went back for the camera. There is a gardenia bush on either side of the steps and one had such a perfect blossom on it this morning. I see the other one has one coming. All winter this bush has been trying to get a blossom and it keeps getting frosted or frozen. It finally made it.

It's the same flower, different views.

Isn't that a wonderful sight? I like the scent of the Gardenia, but have never grown it since it's a houseplant here.

What a lovely flower - so clean and fresh. I love the scent of gardenias but, sadly, they don't grow well here in Scotland.

Lucky you! They're houseplants here too. Here, we all wait for the lilacs to bloom which is a wonderful thing.

Oh lucky lucky you! That is so pretty and the scent must be wonderful. Gardenia wouldn't make it here and I have never been successful with one inside....

That's really cool. I like how the petals untwist to open.

I can't wait for mine to bloom. It is by the screened in porch, so I can enjoy it while I'm outside. I will plant another one under my bedroom window. Just love the sweet smell of the Gardenia's.

I'm glad I got a picture of it yesterday because today it is waterlogged and bedraggled looking. We have had two or three inches of rain between yesterday and this morning. More rain coming, we're told. dooley
