The man who played Maverick died on Sat. at age 86. I also liked him in The Great Escape. In his later years he played the grandfather on 8 Simple Rules after John Ritter had died. He served in Korea and held 2 Purple Heart Medals. He will be missed.
Used to like watching the Rockford Files when I was a young kid but I can't say I understood what was going on. Always remembered the lead actor however.
