How does one root those pretty Azaleas which bloom in the spring????/ I have one called Flame and would love to root another. The color is as bright as the fall leaves, like flame. Thanks in advance......
Take a low hanging branch, leave it attached to the plant, scrape the underside of the stem, and weight it down on the ground. Make sure there is dirt where you weight it down at, not grass. A brick is a good weight. Or you can weight it down directly into a pot of dirt using the same method.
And leave it there for a couple of years. Don't be tempted to check on it, as you might disturb its' root growth. The same method might be applied to Rhododendron, any size.
