The links below go with this pic I posted from last year. I'm in zone 4b, and it survives the winter just fine, is very disease resistant, and is thriving under a walnut tree. It stands about 5' tall, and has a light scent, but not overpowering by any means. Blooms profusely. Don't know if this helps, but I'd take any guesses as to what it might be. I bought markers to place names on all my roses I do remember (and for the ones I just purchased today). When I first started growing roses, I didn't think I'd care what variety they were, now I do. Beginner mistake no doubt. I don't know much about roses Pianolady but yours are beautiful. :-D I must post some piccies of mine when they come into bloom and maybe someone can tell me what they are too. I threw all the labels away when I got them as I hate labels in the garden - bad mistake - should have kept a note of what they were.
Well the rose flower itself is pretty much dead on to the Guy de Maupassant but the leaves dont match up at all.... not even close! You got me stumped! That was the limit to my rose knowledge! Sorry! If you find the name but sure to let us know! I sure wouldnt mind having one of those!
We've narrowed it down to a Buck rose called "Carefree Beauty". I first thought it might be Barn Dance, but after further research, that rose wasn't available at our local nurseries, and Carefree Beauty was around the time I purchased this rose. old rose bush ive got a ? i have a old rose bush dates way back used to be my mothers when she messed around in the yard and i know that has been a while.when i was a kid i moved the rose bush to the home im at now,the bush sheds its petals before it full blooms ,what is causeing that and what can i do to stop it from shedding petals
Ive heard of some rose that clean themselves. Meaning you dont have to deadhead them. That all the petals will drop off themselves. Maybe this is what you have.
Your roses look really healthy and pretty! I have a couple of rose gardens, they are done now with the first set of blooms which are always the nicest and then the japanese beetles munch away on the next set that comes on. Man I hate those beetles!!!
