This is about 15 year old. I have to trim it back every other year or it will become a tree. The boom is a double bloom, nice enough to be a corsage.
That is beautiful Capt. The bloom is gorgeous. I keep saying I should get one, I see them all over the place down here but they are the single bloom. I will have to look around for the double.
That is indeed a beauty. I would love to have a double bloomer, but like Toni, the ones I have seen are only single. They are pretty, but your double one is gorgeous.
I got it at a greenhouse that was going out of business. It was in a 1 gal pot with no info and no bloom. I knew it was a rose of sharon from it's leaves. Paid 50 cents for it!
All you have to do Capt.is take one or however many you want of those cuttings and place then each in water are stick them in root harmone and place them in a pot in potting soil. The easiest to root for me.I have about 6 from here and there all are doubles.I want a single white with the wine center.I am going to see if I can get a cutting from the lady that has it.I know where a double hot pink one is too.
That is a beauty...I would love one like it. I don't think mine are half as pretty. I have 3 of them but they are all young ones...2-3 years old..
What a lovely focal point your Rose of Sharon makes. I can hardly believe that you only paid 50 cents for such a wonderful plant!! :-D
Supurb-looking bush...and it was really good of you to do a close-up as well. It lookls very good, sort of like a centerpiece.
How beautiful! I have had the single, now I am going to look for the double. (I would love to find one for that price!)
