is it ok to dig up roses this time of year , i have a small blue one that needs a little more sun, so thought i might try and move it. thank you margie
Margie, now is the prime time for you to plant or transplant a rose, but the important word is "now". If it needs pruning, do it before moving. Dig your hole, prep the soil, water the rose thoroughly, and move it preferably about sundown, but if you have to move it during the day, provide some shade for a couple of days (old umbrellas are so handy for this!). Is your rose "Blue Angel"?
yes it is a blue angel itwas so pretty last year but i think with more sun it will be even better, im not sure if its a climber or not, i need to look that up, it was the prettiest blue, i am wanting a orangy yellow one i not sure of the name, i have seen one it was beautiful, thank you so much for your feed back margie
Margie, Blue Angel is a climbing floribunda, but don't expect it to get really tall. The orangy-yellow one you want may be Bengal Tiger: which is a bush type rose, not very tall. Or it might be Delightful Phyllis, which gets to about 3' to 4' tall: Either the Bengal or the Phyllis is a great rose--you'd enjoy them, I'm sure!
I cut a bouquet of Dark Lady and Esperanza before the rain. We are enjoying it, and hope y'all do, too.
