I have never been in the Ruddock Swamp. I have some friends who live there and one day I will go see it. They make their living from the swamp. September was alligator hunting season. They are liscened to hunt them, that is the only way it is legal to kill one. Their 3 year old granddaughter goes alligator hunting with her PawPaw, Dad, and uncles, she has been going since she is two. It is so funny to hear her tell about it. Anyway, I found this pic of Ruddock Swamp and thought y'all would enjoy it. This spring Richard and I will go to our local swamp and take pics to post.

lol Unless it's blackened and on a plate I'd rather not see a gator!

I have a question! Has anyone here ever been to fontainebleau state park and if so, are there areas like that there?

We just tried to go there last Sunday and it's still closed. But no, there are no places like that there. The best place for that sort of walk is Jean Lafitte park on the West Bank of NO and best during Iris season....early spring.

Oh I can feel my feet itching to walk on that path. You just want to see what at the end of that bit of pathway don't you?
