When chipping wood, always wear safety glasses.

And please do not chop wood before 8 am and disturb the neighbors!
    Great photo (as usual) Kildale.

I would also recommend hearing protection.

A wise woodpecker indeed as he seems to have his eyes closed. With splinters of wood flying all around his face like that he knows just what to do doesn't he?

Fantastic action shot!! It's good that the woodpeckers have not figured how to use a chainsaw. :)

Well caught Kildale. He's really into what he's doing.

Kildale, Very good shot. I know how spooky these little creatures are. They like to play ring around the tree when they see a human.
