Schmallenberg Virus has developed in several parts of Europe affecting Cattle and Sheep in Belgium,..France,..Germany,..Netherlands,..and the South of England,..apparently this is a new virus and it will take a year or two to develop a cure.

Spring Lambs are born with legs fuzed together and other deforms.

Is this something that farmers and herdsmen will have to take unusual methods to prevent it spreading while they develop a vaccine?

    Hi Jerry,
i think farmers have had it with this one,..its a new disease/virus and has spread from the south of France to the south of England through the "Midge",..i can not remember if you have them in the USA,..but they are a small fly that bite very similar to the "Mosquito",..the after bite area itches like mad and swells.

That is a terrible thing to have going on...I hope things have settled down and are under control.
