Yay! Finally, the children are now home for the holidays and I have finished work until the 5th January. I am almost at that stage now where if we haven't got it, we ain't having it! :)

Just a little winge, hurt my finger at work today, pressed a bramble thorn into my knuckle and boy oh boy does it hurt now! Hopefully it will settle down.

Sometimes I think I ought to miss the days of school holidays and the joy of their first day back at school after one of those holidays.....but I really don't ;)

It is pretty much the official beginning of the holiday season when school lets out that last day isn't it.

Kids around here started their holidays 3 days early because of the weather!
How fun to have your kids home and be able to be there to enjoy it! Will you be making, um, biscuits and fudge? (it threw me for a loop the first time my little niece from London asked for a biscuit, Mum had to explain she meant a cookie :) )
Do you have somewhere fun you like to go over the break? We got a week-long pass to Mt. Rainier when DS was 10, wonderful memories of chasing bunny tracks in the snow!

School was out here today.I hope you watch that place as plant thorns can cause a deadly infection.I stuck a Mascara thorn in mine and it caused a septic infection had to have shots and still almost was put in the hospital for IV antibotics. If its really red and swelled please go to the doctor EJ.

Eeek glendann - The swelling has gone down now and although it is still very sore, the heat had completely gone out of it. I will keep an eye on it and if in doubt I shall go to the Emergency room.

Critterpainter - the children and I will do lots of baking, biscuits and cookies. I think of biscuits as sweet pastry that you roll out and cut shapes from and cookies as the type you make balls and press them down to flatten. I don't know if we will be going anywhere to be honest as town will be mobbed with shoppers and a lot of the nature attractions are closed at this time of year. I sense it will be lots of snuggling up with warm cookies and milk, watching Christmas shows on TV.

Enjoy your holidays, EJ! The girls had their last day yesterday, and are staying home until January 5th, so we'll have a lovely couple of weeks too. :)
