Just thought I'd show you a few of the picies I took while up north. The first few pictures explain themselves but I wonder what you're thinking when you look at the last one!!! Well there's a story attached to the photograph. In days gone by pagans used to believe that the well you see in the photograph was, in fact, a healing well. They used to dip pieces of fabric into the water and then hang them on the surrounding trees. It was said that when your rag dried all your ills would be cured. The tradition is upkept even to this day and walkers will tie any piece of fabric they have about their person to the trees after soaking them in the well. There are many more trees than I have shown all laden with everything from sweatshirts to socks!! The "Clootie Well" is near Munlochy in the Scottish Highlands.
Great photos Eileen. The last photo looks like something out of the Blair Witch Project. I think I would be quite shaken if I got lost in the woods and stumbled across that little display
Really great pictures Eileen, lovely area. The last picture reminded me of the prayer flags you see hanging from trees and lines in other countries, I thought those might be something similar.
