I'm pretty excited ... I've already gotten 2 seed catalogs in the mail!! They seem to come earlier each year, but that's OK with me ... it gives me more time to plan my gardens. Anyone else getting them yet? Is there anything you MUST have???
Where do you get seed catalogs from? How do I get my hands on them? Who do they come from? I get plant, but not seed catalogs.
I have gotten two also. Gurneys came around the first of Nov. and Pinetree Garden Seeds came yesterday. Flowerfreak.....the ones I can think of off the top of my head are Superseeds.com (which is the website for Pinetree Garden Seeds) Gurneys.com Southernexposure.com Johnnyseeds.com Go to their websites and request a catalog. In a couple of years they will have sold your name and address to enough other seeds companies so you too will be inundated with catalogs all year round
So far I've only received Pinetree Seeds, one of my favorites and one that I order from at least twice a year. I'm looking forward to getting Jung's, and Totally Tomatoes, and Scheeper's, and a lot of others. Can you tell I'm a seed catalog junkie? Some women buy shoes, I buy seeds . . . .
This is the first catalog from Pinetree Seeds that I have seen and I really like it. So many seeds, so little space
That sounds great! I'm definitely going to check those sites out and hopefully I'll be receiving some catalogs soon. Thanks Toni!
Toni, I agree about liking Pinetree. Their packets are reasonably priced, and sized for the home gardener. The catalog also tells you if the variety is open-pollinated, important for those of us who save seed. I love their "foreign" sections--Italian, Asian, Latin American vegetables. You must try the Striata d'Italia squash.
Thanks Toni, but I'm WAY ahead of you! Been there and checked it all out. I'm intrigued with a few of their heirloom veggies. They have good stuff! Oh ~ I got another seed catalog today!
I figured an old seed catalog user like yourself would dig up the right website. Which catalog did you get today?
Okay, so now I have that one on it's way to my mailbox. I think I was on their mailing list several years ago but wasn't doing much gardening then.
I still have not gotten any catalogs in my mailbox. I must not order often enough anymore, so I have dropped off their mailing lists.
