I have several daylily plants but haven't found any seed pods yet. When do the seed pods form? Does it have anything to do with dead heading? I'm most anxious to grow more of what I have as I dug them up from my grandma's flower beds when we were selling her house after she passed away. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hi there celtchick and welcome to our forums. :-D Why not introduce yourself to our members and tell us a little about yourself as we love to greet new folks. I found this about gathering daylily seeds: "Gathering The Seeds of daylilies. You will notice after the bloom cycle the flowers will have produced a seed pod. Left on the plant in early fall this will swell and pop open revealing the many seeds. A week or two later of breezy fall weather they will be dry, black and easy to separate from the pod. Spread the seeds out to dry completely in an airy dry location indoors or out." Taken from Bulb and Bloom. Hope this is of some use to you.
