hehe im all stocked up on children :-D i suppose i'd accept anything that isn't on my lists. have you seen something you'd like?
Carolyn, The shipping costs are astronomical for children (crates, feeding, etc.). Wait until they are old enough to either walk to the destination, or pay their own fare.
Mostly they are old enough or rich (hahahahaha) enough to pay their own way. they seem to be richer than me anyhow. Most likely because they don't have to pay any bills yet. I guess I'll just keep them for now. Most days they are great kids. not long ago 2 of them spilled pop on my carpet and on the wall I was not a happy camper. I am still trying to get the carpet back to normal. I am interested in the orange thyme, though, Luke. I have some herb seeds and a few vegetable seeds left from the spring. LOTS of delicata bush squash. Kevin ordered me 500 seeds. Oops. Purple ruffles basil- very strongly scented sweet "lemon" dani basil siam queen basil - also very strongly scented oregano reg. thyme red warty thing squash - looks like a hubbard but is very red delicata bush squash But is probably much cheaper to just buy them as opposed to exchanging them this far. Huh?
Sometimes seed swaps between countries will turn out to be very expensive...better check on the restictions of each country before putting some in the mail.
Thanks Toni, I was wondering about that. I have never traded seeds and I was curious if it was something that we could do between countries. I know you can't do plants , but I wasn't sure about seeds, either. I wouldn't know where to check either. Do you?
Check out the USDA.gov website, I know I found info there a couple of years ago. Also, you would need to check for any restrictions in the country you are mailing too. Some require a lot of paper work from the sender along with certification that the seeds are free of any disease or insects. Even between states in the US there are some restrictions, I believe that Calif has some very tight rules about what can come in. My daughter has a friend in Australia who has almost gotten fined because email friends have sent her candy bars containing nuts twice and has been told that one more time it would levee a fine against her of about $250. It sometimes is just not worth the time and paperwork when seeds to almost any plant are available from online sellers in each country.
it probably would be cheaper just to buy them over here. i'll have a look into shipping costs etc. i was hoping someone from the uk would be interested, but my english allies don't seem to respond to my posts as much as you guys across the pond :-?
Well Luke, I just don't understand that. This place is so much fun. Good luck on trading them over there.
