One of my aunts asked for help with her yard. So, my brother, hubby and I went to the rescue. They cut down some dead trees and then bush-hogged the back of the property and the land next door that belongs to another of my aunts.
While they were busy with all that, my job was to tidy-up the front yard. Biggest job was to tackle the Sega Palms. This one is near the house. The others at the road were just as bad.

I meant to take a photo of that one after I finished, but I was so hot & tired I forgot.
But I did remember to take a photo of the one's by the road when they were finished. My aunt only thought there were 2 of them, but was you can see, there is three. Plus there's a couple of "babies" too. That small pecan tree in the middle of them was cut down later.

I trimmed dead stuff off 4-5 other plants/shrubs. And did some weed-eating.
I really want to tackle her front flower bed (where the single sega palm is in the first photo). It's really overgrown... but it's just too darn hot right now. So I promised her that I'd get to it either this winter or early spring. She's got 4-o'clocks in it, and some lilys plus some hibiscus. She said they used to be pink, but now that they are so old, they've turned white. Not sure if that's true or not... but who cares! They are real beauties!

    And they are HUGE!

Plus the bees just love 'em!

She's already promised that I can have one of the smaller plants whenever I clean up the flower bed. She knows that'll get me over there!!! :D

Needless to say, she was super-thrilled to have all the work done. We were well paid too... a nice bbq lunch was waiting us when we were finished!

Good job, all of you. Those Palms look so much better after a good hair cut.
It does look like that bed by the house holds some interesting plants.

There's no telling what's all in that front bed. Some things you can tell.. the other's are just covered with grass and mint. But hopefully by next spring, it will be in tip-top shape.

Loves those palms and they look great after your clean up. The offer of baby hibiscus plants would have me back helping out also. :)

OO what gorgeous hibiscus flowers and they are so BIG!! Those palm look so much better now you've tidied them up. Your aunt must be so grateful for all the help you three gave her. I hope you don't hve too many aches and pains after all that work.

Congratulations on a job well done! I'd be there working for that lunch, never mind the plants. :D I'm very fond of food you see.

Not so much aches and pain... but scratches and pokes from the palms! But all better now!
