She is quite insistant on staying put, and is rather unfriendly towards us when we try to put more underneath the tree. I can hear her now: "It's mine! All mine, I tell you! Get your paws off!" There are a couple of pressies for her underneath there, but she'll have to behave better if she's going to get them:
Oh, she's precious, Droopy and quite resembles my Casey who claims any box that comes into the house as her own. She couldn't care less what was in them. Pet her for me.
Oh dear how are you going to get the pressies out from underneath the tree if she decides she's not going to let you near them?!! Maybe you could tempt her out from under with something tasty but not your fingers please.
I've given her a pet from you, gardengater. Eileen, a gal's gotta eat now and then, so we shall have to hurry while she's otherwise engaged. She's playing with the ribbons, silly animal.
She is so pretty and does seem a bit protective of that tree and present.I would be very careful of getting a gift out from under there. She is to cute.
Oh how cute! She knows Santa is coming! Lexi sniffs the packages, but has never bothered them. Her 'Santa' will be in her stocking!
She's stolen my husband's good chair now, so we've got access to the tree again. Lord Paint is the one who's likely to pull down garlands and beat off glass baubles. He reckons big boys need big toys. The worst present squeezer in the household is me. The girls are very well behaved in comparison.
he he he My cat does exactly the same thing Droopy! At least she has stopped trying to climb the tree...the first few years she did and always ended up knocking the poor thing over!
I had a tree-tipper when I was growing up. Our solution was to tie the top of the tree to a hook in the ceiling!
Heh heh heh...she is looking quite managerial there. I've heard of divide and conquor, but it doesn't look like there will be any dividing here...she's gottem all! So!...You are a prezzie-squeezer eh? Well, I'll declare. I had no idea that you were such an impatient being. Those kids of yours will really have to keep an eye on you.
We've got a hook in the ceiling, and we normally tie the tree to it, but I'm hoping both girls and cats are old and wise enough now to not attempt any climbing. My squeeze-habit is the reason why hubby won't let me put presents under the tree. He prefers to do it himself, with some help from the girls. The cat is now lying in the bean bag, watching the pile of presents with a half-open eye. There's no escaping her. This might be tough!
Heh heh heh.... well, was it tough? And did those cats get a little something for all the waiting and guarding they had to do?
Everything went smoothly. We started by opening up the cats' pressies, and while they were busy gorging themselves we attacked and demolished the present pile. Snuske had a strongly insulted look when she went to inspect underneath the tree later in the evening. I shall have to feed her more of the luxury food in order to be forgiven, I guess.
