What a really pretty thing your hat is. Just wait until Frank sees those shamrocks!! Was it difficult to make and can you show us how you did it please?

Is he Irish?//My hubby is .. Also my dil is.....

I can try to explain it .. I have no pattern at all.

    2 pieces of cardboard
1 is a large dish ......cardboard
top smaller piece is smaller plate cardboard.

Then I cut 2 circles of white cloth for each of the cardboards. Make it a couple inches larger than the circle.

Do the same with the shamrock material, same size as white.

On the Large c.board place the cardboard in the center, of the materials ......Pull up the ends or openings to the center and tie it tight.

Take the small one an lay it on the material and Stuff it with quilting stuffing, Till it is shaped in the circle of the small type hat......

Put them together and sew the edges of the small one
to the large .....Try to keep it close to the rim.

    Add a trim......for the tails.

I dont know if you can understand this or not.

    That is actually very pretty.
If you did not say it was a hat I would have thought that it was a cake (Last year one of my friends made a mother's day cake in the shape of a hat) because it looks good enough to eat.
All the work on it - the intricate pattern - you are crafty. :stew1:

That's so cleverly made! If you said "hat" and left out the cardboard bit I would be ready to wear it to the Ascot. (As if I ever go to the Ascot.)

I think it is so pretty and you are very crafty.I wouldn't try to make one as it would turn out a mess but I really like yours.

    Thank you everyone ..

You can make or copy or do what ever . Probably be easier to use a round open box for the top part.
