Our DGS just bought his first house. As his house warming gift we are giving him his Great-grandfathers bedroom set plus a new mattress and box springs for it. That means that I need to replace the dresser, I have an extra bed. All of my furniture is borderline antiques (not extremely valuable but solid wood) so we'll be hitting the antique stores today and see what we find. Also need to get the bedding and grocery shop. My feet are already crying just thinking about all the walking. Cross your fingers that I find a dresser in the first place I look!

I'll keep everything crossed that the perfect dresser is there for you in the very first shop you visit. Do let us see photographs of it if/when you find it. Good luck!!

What I found out is not a lot of antique stores are open on Mondays! We are leaving for Spokane, Wa. tomorrow morning and I may be able to check on some while we are there.

Good Luck with your shopping...I like real wood too. We have a couple places around here that sell it... Oak is a favorite of mine...

I still haven't found a dresser though we did drive to Spokane and deliver the furniture and baby clothes. We had a good visit with everyone. Only bad thing was I tripped and did full body skid on concrete! No injury but I sure am sore and stiff. That eliminated looking for a dresser. I'll start looking again in a couple of days.

Thank you Sherry. I was pretty stiff for a couple of days but I'm fine now.
I finally found a dresser, actually it's a chest of drawers. It's a dark color like the bed is and I got it for a good price. All wood, finger-jointed drawers and it's almost the same color as the bed, especially for $70.00. It had drawer knobs on it but they are really cheap replacements. I'll post a picture when I get the, on it. I wished I had thought to take a 'before' photo of it.

So pleased you didn't break anything in your fall 2ofus and are feeling so much better. I'm glad to hear that you found just the right piece of furniture for your bedroom and I look forward to seeing photographs of it.
